The British Council is pleased to announce the Call for Speakers for ELT Week Peru 2026, a flagship virtual professional development event for English language educators, taking place from 9 to 13 March 2026.

ELT Week Peru aims to highlight and amplify the voices of local educators and specialists, while also welcoming contributions from international speakers. We seek to inspire teachers, share innovative practices, and promote dialogue around the evolving challenges and opportunities in ELT. We invite proposals that reflect local challenges, showcase innovative pedagogical approaches, and align with the British Council’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Framework for Teachers.

About ELT Week Peru 2026

Organised by the British Council, ELT Week Peru is a free, virtual conference designed to support English teachers across the country and Latin America. With live webinars and on-demand recordings, the event offers flexible access to high-quality professional development.

We are seeking proposals that are relevant to the experiences and realities of teachers in Argentina, and which align with the conference theme and one or more of the following focus areas:

  • Planning lessons and courses: Describing an assessment approach
  • Managing the lesson: Giving effective instructions, checking learner understanding
  • Assessing learning: Reflecting on assessment effectiveness
  • Understanding my context: Understanding school/classroom context, working with constraints/resource, understanding policy and curriculum impacts, collaborating with colleagues, adapting teaching to wider context
  • Understanding and developing my professional identity: Using digital tools for CPD, evaluating impact of CPD on teaching
  • Using digital technologies: Designing teaching materials with technology, using digital tools for assessment, supporting learner agency via technology
  • Using inclusive practices: Recognising and responding to learner diversity, adapting materials for inclusivity, supporting learners with special needs, promoting equitable participation, collaborating with others for inclusion
  • Using multilingual practices: Valuing learners’ home languages, using multilingual strategies, encouraging translanguaging, assessing in linguistically appropriate ways, reflecting on multilingual effectiveness
  • Using 21st-century skills / core skills: Teaching collaboration and communication, teaching creativity and problem-solving, supporting digital and media literacy, fostering learner autonomy, encouraging critical thinking and agency.

 Proposals should include:

  1. Title: A concise and engaging title (maximum 12 words).
  2. Abstract: A clear description of the session (150–200 words) highlighting key takeaways for participants.
  3. Presenter Bio: A short bio (50–100 words) outlining your relevant experience and expertise.
  4. Session Format: Indicate whether the session is a presentation, an interactive session, or other.
  5. Technical Requirements: Specify any special tools or platforms you may require.
  6. Session Modality: Indicate if you prefer to deliver a fully live session or a hybrid session (recorded presentation with live Q&A)
