Segunda Edición Meet Jago Cooper y Deyan Sudjic

In collaboration with “Espacio Fundación Telefónica”, MEET presents Deyan Sudjic, Director of the Design Museum, London and Jago Cooper Curator of the Americas in the department of Africa, Oceania and the Americas at the British Museum, London.

He has presented two documentary series for the BBC: 

Lost Kingdoms of South America (2011), which explores the Chachapoya Culture (Peru), the Tiwanaku (Bolivia), the Tairona (Colombia) and the Chimu Culture, (Peru). 

The Inca: Masters of the Clouds (2015), in which Cooper travels through Peru and Ecuador to re-examine and re-discover the origins and highlights the accomplishments and nature of the Inca Empire. 

Cooper co-wrote, along with Prayson D. Sheets, the book Surviving Sudden Environmental Change: Answers from Archaeology (2012). Through a series of case studies, the book examines how eight different communities from the past located in the arctic, the Equatorial regions, the tropical rainforest and the desert, from prehistory to present time, have had to face the dangers of climate change. 

Deyan Sudjic, OBE

Director of the Design Museum in London. His career expands through journalism, teaching and writing. In 1999 he was the Director of Glasgow UK City of Architecture and in 2002, Director of the Venice Architecture Biennial. Sudjic was editor of Domus Magazine from 2000 to 2004 and founding editor of Blueprint Magazine from 1983 to 1996. He has published many books about architecture and design including The Edifice Complex (Penguin, 2006), The Language of Things (Penguin, 2008), Norman Foster: A Life in Architecture (Orion, 2010), Shiro Kuramata (Phaidon, 2013), B is for Bauhaus (Penguin, 2014) and Ettore Sottsass, the Poetry of Things (Phaidon, 2015). His most recent book, The Language of Cities, was published by Penguin in October 2016. In the year 2000 he was awarded with the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and named Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE).
