This annual event is organised by IATEFL Peru and congregates national and international ELT researchers, specialists trainers and teachers. This year it is tailored to different audiences each day. The British Council contributes to the continual teacher professional development in Peru by bringing high-quality national and international presenters as well as certifying the audience.

Keynote presenter Nick Bilbrough

Teaching for over 20 years. Author of two resource books in the Cambridge Handbooks for Language Teachers series: Dialogue Activities and Memory Activities for Language Learning.

Author of Stories Alive, recently published by the British Council. Now, he works in the registered charity he set up, https://handsupproject.org/ working with Palestinian children through online storytelling.

Keynote presenter Sandie Jones Mourão

NILE

Teacher educator, author and consultant. She is co-editor of Early Years Second Language Education: International Perspectives on Theory and Practice and Children’s Literature in English Language Education. Author and researcher of English Teaching in the Early Years: Peru (NILE & British Council 2018).

Keynote presenter Manuela de la Fuente

More than 20 years of experience in ELT. She has been an English and Spanish teacher, teacher trainer, materials developer, consultant, coordinator and programme director, international speaker and Core Skills trainer. She was the recipient of an ELTon award in 2007 as part of an international and multicultural team that developed the topic of “Critical Literacy”, a project with which she teachers in Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Chile.

Ana Hurtado

Workshop leader Ana Maria Hurtado

Ana holds an M.A. in Professional Development for Language Education, Leeds Becket University, Advanced Diploma in Education, University of East Anglia. She is a teacher educator, mentor trainer and teacher. She is committed to developing self-reflective, creative practitioners to face the dynamic realities of teaching and learning in demanding contexts.

 

15 September: “The Power of metaphor in CPD- Continuous Professional Development”

Worskhop leader Roxana C. Perca Chagua

She holds a BA in Education, and Licentiate in Foreign Language, Translator and interpreter at the faculty of education at Jorge BasadreGrohmann National University in Tacna. She got a Master in Applied Linguistics at Federal University of Santa Catarina Brazil. Roxana finalised the Champion Teachers Programme by the British Council in Peru in 2017.

 

15 September: 'Improving writing skills through scaffolding and collaborative writing activities' 

Workshop leader Robert Carvajal Alayo

He holds a BA in Education from Instituto Nacional Pedagógico Monterrico and has been teaching Language B of the IB Diploma programme in the High Achieving School in Pasco (COAR Pasco) and private schools. He finalised the Champion Teachers Programme by the British Council in Peru in 2017.
